New Training Program in Social Work at Gallaudet University

Submitted by Martha Sheridan on August 5, 2009.

The Department of Social Work at Gallaudet University in Washington DC is happy to announce that our MSW Program has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education for "Training School Social Workers to Meet the Educational and Emotional Needs of Diverse Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children."

This means that for the next four years we will be training school social work graduate students to work with diverse groups of deaf and hard of hearing children in educational programs throughout the United States. Each trainee will receive 1/2 tuition waiver and a generous stipend. We will welcome our first group of trainees and scholarship recipients this fall.

We are now beginning recruitment for academic years 2010-2013.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide in getting the word out on this scholarship opportunity! Feel free to contact us at beth.betman@gallaudet.edu or martha.sheridan@gallaudet.edu for more information.
